Eye MD of Niceville is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Niceville, FL

Eye MD of Niceville is a medical practice in Niceville, FL. We are currently seeking a full-time, Ophthalmic Technician.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills/patient care.
  • Must have strong communication and computer skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with good time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must have a passion for helping others and working with elderly patients.
  • Prefer candidates who are JCAHPO Ophthalmic Scribe Certified (OSC), a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), or a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT).
  • Prefer candidates who have worked in the healthcare field as an Optical Assistant, Medical Assistant, Surgical Assistant, or other related role.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities/Duties: We are looking for someone who is proficient in the following:

  • Promptly and professionally assists the doctor in patient care.
  • Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories.
  • Performs technical workups and special testing.
  • Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc.
  • Maintains and cleans all equipment being used.
  • Returns phone calls to patients, other medical offices, and pharmacies.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Accurately performs: manifest refractions, lensometry, keratometry, tonometry, topography, visual field testing, and pupil exams.
  • Opportunity to assist in surgical cases, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
